6 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 280 more people have received new positive test results, and 4 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered information reported Tuesday and Wednesday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the new deaths include:

*A 54-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 20th and passed away on Monday. He was not vaccinated.

*An 83-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 16th and passed away on Sunday. He was fully vaccinated.

*A 64-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 2nd and passed away on Tuesday. She was not vaccinated.

*A 53-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 15th and passed away on Monday. She was not vaccinated.

*A 68-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 7th and passed away on Tuesday. He was not vaccinated.

*A 55-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 19th and passed away on Tuesday. He was not vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 8,927. Of those, 8,639 are people that have received positive test results and 288 are presumptive. 108 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 77 locally and 31 outside the area, including two that have been transferred out of state. 10 ventilators are in use and 21 BIPAP machines are in use. 11 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit. 101 out of the 108 are not fully vaccinated.
