Earlier this week, the Elkton School Board voted to delay the start of the school year for three weeks.
Information on the school district’s website said this is due to the current surge in COVID-19 cases in the county. The decision means that classes will begin on September 20th. More information including a revised school calendar will be available in the coming days.
High school and middle school sports will continue as scheduled. Contact the Elkton School District for additional details.
Elkton School District Superintendent Andy Boe has not responded to a request from News Radio 1240 KQEN for more information regarding the decision.
