3 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 136 more people have received new positive test results, and 1 is presumptive, as of Monday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update said 83 more people received new positive test results on Sunday. 3 more people died related to COVID-19, and 197 more people received new positive test results on Saturday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 111th death was a 69-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 7th and passed away on Friday. She was vaccinated. The 112th death was a 94-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 6th and passed away on Friday. He was vaccinated. The 113th death was a 60-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 12th and passed away on Thursday. She was not vaccinated. The 114th death was a 61-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday and passed away Saturday. He was fully vaccinated. The 115th death was a 72-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 8th and passed away on Sunday. He was not vaccinated. The 116th death was a 66-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 13th and passed away on Sunday. He was not vaccinated.

Dannenhoffer told News Radio 1240 KQEN that 26 local people have died related to COVID-19 so far this month.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 7,436. Of those, 7,164 have received positive test results and 272 are presumptive. 78 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 65 locally and 13 outside the area including 2 that have been transferred out of state for care that is not available here. 12 ventilators are in use and 12 COVID positive patients are in the intensive care unit. 69 of the 78 hospitalized were not vaccinated.
