The Skyline Ridge Complex is 95 percent contained as of Friday morning, burning in 5,760 acres.

An update from the Douglas Forest Protective Association said early Friday the Oregon Department of Forestry Incident Management Team 1 transitioned command of the fire back to a local Type 3 organization that is being led jointly by DFPA and the Bureau of Land Management.

The update said the fire camp that was in Tri-City near Exit 103 has been closed and the resources that remain assigned to the Skyline Ridge Complex will move into the fire camp in Milo that is housing resources for the Devils Knob Complex.

180 firefighters and equipment operators are still assigned to the Complex and will continue patrolling fire lines, mopping up hot spots, backhauling equipment and causing fire suppression repair projects.

The update said smoke from the interior areas of the largest fire in the complex, the Poole Creek Fire, may be visible until heavy rains return to the region in the fall.

The Skyline Ridge Complex is five miles southeast of Canyonville.
