MAN JAILED AFTER ALLEGED ASSAULT

A Reedsport man was jailed after an alleged stabbing on Tuesday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 10:20 a.m. an investigation of an assault revealed that 56-year old Douglas Murray first swung an ink pen at a male victim and then while atop the victim on the ground, allegedly brandished a knife which caused a cut to the man’s cheek.

The incident took place in the 700 block of Southeast Cass Avenue. Murray was charged with second-degree assault and for a parole violation. Murray was detained without bail.
