On Tuesday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily state case count during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OHA said there were 2,941 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, and 15 new deaths. That raises the state’s death toll to 2,964 and total number of cases to 245,758. The report included new cases that were reported to some counties over the weekend.

The new cases include:

*363 in Marion County

*300 in Douglas County

*253 in Lane County

*247 in Jackson County

*151 in Clackamas County

*145 in Multnomah County

*110 each in Josephine and Linn counties

*94 in Deschutes County

*88 in Yamhill County

*84 in Umatilla County

*76 in Coos County

*71 in Columbia County

*52 in Klamath County

*43 in Polk County

*42 in Lincoln County

*40 in Union County

*39 in Malheur County

*36 in Clatsop County

*29 in Benton County

*27 each in Crook and Tillamook counties

*25 in Wasco County

*14 in Harney County

*12 in Hood River County

*11 each in Jefferson and Morrow counties

*8 in Curry County

*6 in Gilliam County

*4 in Wallowa County

*3 in Baker County

OHA said the total number of hospitalized patients across Oregon is 838, which is 86 more than on Monday. There are 222 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 16 more than on Monday. Both of those numbers are also record highs for the pandemic.

OHA reported that 6,439 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,144 were initial doses and 1,056 were second doses administered on Monday. The remaining 3,075 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Monday.
