33 more people have received new positive test results for COVID-19, and there is 1 new presumptive, as of Friday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Recovery Update said the total number of cases is now at 4,244. Of those, 4,049 are people that have received positive test results and 195 are presumptive. There have been 87 deaths. 15 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 11 locally and 4 outside the area. 167 people are in isolation. 181 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 343 people that are either in isolation or quarantine.

The Thursday recap said 12 new people had received new positive test results for COVID-19, with 1 new presumptive.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said just as earlier in the week, “…we are quite sure that it is the Delta, with several introductions from other states”. Dannenhoffer said the vaccines seem to be quite effective and urged un-vaccinated residents to get vaccinated.
