A short section of the northbound lane of Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg remains closed as contractors with the City of Roseburg continue with a preventative maintenance project.
The project, which is replacing 20-foot heavy concrete slabs that tie the roadway asphalt to the bridge, will cost close to $343,000 and should be completed by June 18th. Funding for the work is coming from the city’s Transportation Fund.
The northbound lane is closed from West Harvard Avenue to the entrance of Stewart Park. The southbound lane remains open through the area.
A detour is rerouting northbound traffic around the road closure using Harvard Avenue, Interstate Five and Garden Valley Boulevard. The road through the Roseburg VA campus cannot be used as a detour, as it remains closed to the public.
