EUGENE MAN JAILED ON FIREARM, DRUG CHARGES

A Eugene man was jailed on firearm and drug charges on Sunday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 4:30 p.m. a deputy contacted 62-year old Jesse Day at a parking lot just off of Salmon Harbor Drive in Winchester Bay. The report said the man’s vehicle was illegally parked and was blocking access to the parking lot.

During contact, a deputy allegedly located a methamphetamine pipe and over 2.8 grams of meth. Day reportedly admitted to having a rifle inside of his truck. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, for a misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of meth and for a parole violation. Day was held without bail.
