Douglas County’s drive through mass vaccination event has expanded to those age 12 and over.
The approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine’s use by those age 12 to 15 has led to the change. A release from the Douglas Public Health Network said those age 12 to 14, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The adult will need to give written consent as well.
The event is happening through a collaboration by DPHN, the Douglas County Commissioners and Aviva Health. It will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds. To reduce wait time, an appointment is recommended. Go to: https://douglaspublichealthnetwork.org to get signed up. Those without computer access can call 671-3646 and leave a message. A volunteer will call back to complete signup details. Those who need assistance in Spanish call leave a message on the Spanish Help Line at 671-1355.
