A Roseburg woman was cited after a reckless burning incident on Thursday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 11:15 a.m. 37-year old Megan Parshall was allegedly melting polyester in an attempt to temporarily adhere a picture to a frame, near the corner of Southeast Templin Avenue and Southeast Flint Street.

The report said during this time, the wicker basket the picture was inside of caught fire, and a large fire ensued. Roseburg Fire Department arrived on the scene and put out the fire. Vegetation was the only property damaged, other than the woman’s own belongings.

Parshall was charged with second-degree counts of criminal mischief and criminal trespass and for reckless burning. She was released after the citation was issued.
