A Roseburg woman was cited following an alleged hit and run incident on Wednesday.
A Roseburg Police report said at 3:40 p.m. a 19-year old woman was driving east in the inside lane of Garden Valley Boulevard as she approached the intersection with Newcastle. The report said an 83-year old woman was stopped at the stop sign on Newcastle where it meets Garden Valley. The second woman turned east onto Garden Valley out into the center lane, turning into the side of the first vehicle.
The report said the second driver continued down the center lane, striking the concrete barrier center median and blowing out the driver’s front tire on her vehicle. The second driver continued up Kline on her blown out tire.
A witness obtained the license number of the second vehicle. The woman was contacted at her residence where she claimed she was unaware that she struck the other vehicle. Based on witness statements and the severity of the damage, she was cited for hit and run.
