The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a 46-year old man following an alleged menacing incident on Thursday.

A DCSO report said a caller claimed that he had been menaced by Tracy Whittington, with the handle of a shovel after being asked to pick up his garbage. The suspect was observed later operating a vehicle in the 800 block of John Long Road. Whittington was stopped and allegedly gave false information. The suspect denied the menacing claim but the tool as described was located in his vehicle.

Charges included a felony count of driving while suspended, menacing, providing false information to police, and for a parole violation. Whittington was detained without bail at about 9:20 p.m.
