Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center has received a $25,000 grant from the newly named Petco Love, to support their work helping animals in Douglas County.
Saving Grace Executive Director Megan Gram said Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pets closer, stronger and healthier. A release said since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they have empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. The release said the nonprofit has helped to find homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations like Saving Grace.
Gram said, “We are so grateful to have the support of a national nonprofit like Petco Love”. Gram said the grant investment will make it possible for them to continue to improve the lives of animals in their care and to find homes for them.
Gram said Saving Grace provides sheltering for homeless animals, a mobile pet food bank and an affordable spay and neuter for program for animals in the county. Gram said since 2001, Saving Grace has saved the lives of over 2,000 animals.
