Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault, on Wednesday.

An RPD report said just after 10:15 p.m. an officer investigated an alleged disturbance between 33-year old Jesse Palomino and a victim in the 600 block of West Luellen. The report said the officer substantiated evidence that the suspect subjected the victim to substantial pain, fear of serious injury and had interrupted her calls to 911. The report said that Palomino had previously been convicted of assaulting the victim, as well.

Palomino was charged with fourth-degree felony assault, interference with making a report and for menacing. Bail was set at $62,500.
