A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a wreck on Tuesday night.

An Oregon State Police report said troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Interstate Five southbound near the exit to the fairgrounds, at about 7:10 p.m. A trooper located a motorcycle in a ditch and a rider lying on his back nearby. The rider said he was traveling at about 60 miles per hour when the motorcycle started pulling hard to the right for unknown reasons. The rider said he tried correct his bike back onto the road but was not able to.

The report said the rider hit a highway sign breaking it off at the base and doing serious damage to the motorcycle. The 61-year old man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with injuries. He was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson.
