RHS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2021 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

April 13, 2021 3:50 a.m.

Just ahead of the Roseburg High School Foundation Scholarship night, the RHS Foundation has announced the winners of 12 scholarships totaling over $10,000.

Each of the winners will be recognized during the event which will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Rose Theater with a small audience in attendance, as allowed by statewide COVID-19 restrictions. It will also be shown through a live stream on the Roseburg High School Foundation Facebook page. The event will also include the presentation of the 2021 Future First Citizen Award.

Foundation President Brian Prawitz said this is one of the most exciting times of the year for the organization, since its goal is to distribute funds to worthy students and programs at RHS.

Scholarships range in size from $500 to $1,500. Funds for most scholarships come from the donations of many people who have supported the foundation. The release said there are three exceptions:

*The Beal Family Scholarship is supported through a donation from Bob Beal.

*The Class of 1965 Scholarship was started by that class and is now hosted and managed by the foundation.

*The RHS Foundation Scholarship committee Merit Scholarship was added through donations of the scholarship committee themselves to recognize a worthy recipient.

RHS Foundation Scholarships include:

*$1,000 recipients: Rachel Bober, Camile Dela Cruz, and Stephanie Way

*$1,000 Forever Indian: Madison Carter

*$750 recipients: Jillian Pimentel and Haylee Schulze

*$500 recipients: Jace Palmer and Shaelee Sears

*Best Family $1,500 scholarship: Camile Dela Cruz
