MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGED BURGLARY INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed for an alleged burglary incident on Monday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 6:00 a.m. 25-year old James Lander allegedly broke the glass to the front door of Burger King in the 100-block of Gazely Bridge Road in Canyonville, so he could gain access. The report said Lander continued to threaten the employees inside before breaking windows out of the building with chairs. Lander reportedly locked himself inside a restroom. The report said he eventually came out and was taken into custody without further incident.

Charges included second degree counts of burglary, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct, first degree criminal mischief and for menacing. Bail was set at $109,000.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sheriff’s Office Jails Woman Following Reported Stabbing Noon Mar 30 KB

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a woman following a reported stabbing in Days Creek on Monday.

The DCSO report said at 12:10 a.m. deputies responded to the 100 block of Klooster Lane and were advised that 56-year old Zarie Smith had stabbed a victim in the forearm after a verbal disturbance. The report said the victim had a small cut and said they had been stabbed with a steak knife. The suspect then locked herself in an RV that was located outside the main residence.

After negotiating with Smith, she eventually exited the RV and was taken into custody. The knife was seized as evidence.
