A Roseburg man was taken to the hospital following a downtown wreck on Thursday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at 6:30 a.m. the 54-year old was traveling eastbound on Southeast Oak Street and failed to stop at a red traffic light at Southeast Pine. The report said his vehicle was struck by a log truck, driven by a 52-year old Roseburg man, which was headed south on Southeast Pine Street.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson. The driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

The first vehicle sustained major damage and had to be towed from the scene. The log truck had moderate damage, and was also towed away.

Downtown traffic was impacted for about an hour with some roads closed, and detours in place.
