On Wednesday, the Joint Ways and Means co-chairs in the Oregon State Legislature, released the 2021-2023 budget framework, which includes assistance from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan.
A release from Senate House Republican Leader Christine Drazan said several community hearings will be planned and scheduled to incorporate public input before the budget is finalized.
Drazan said, “Republicans are committed to serving the needs of Oregonians and passing a balanced budget as required by the Oregon Constitution”. She said this is just the beginning of the process and she looks forward to hearing from communities and working with colleagues to determine, “…how we can provide ongoing support for recovery and continue the programs and services important to families and children”.
