Safe Routes to Schools in Douglas County and a number of other groups are hosting a free Bike Clinic on Wednesday March 24th.
The drop-in event will be held 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.at the outdoor basketball courts just east of the Tennis Center in Stewart Park. Activities include:
*Free bike repair and basic maintenance is available
*Bike-themed games
*Color and activity books on bike safety
*Bike skills courses
*Bike game zone
*A bike fleet will be on hand for kids to ride
*Balance bikes for kids still learning to ride
Organizers hope to teach bicycle safety, encourage kids to ride, teach practical bike knowledge and help them to become more proficient bike riders who have fun riding outside.
COVID-19 precautions will be observed.
The Bike Clinic is also being organized by Umpqua Valley Bicycle Outreach, Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department, Blue Zones Project Umpqua and the Douglas Education Service District.
