The deadline to file for open seats in the Special Districts Election is approaching.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said there are currently 217 positions open for filing. Loomis said elections for Special Districts are held every two years, in odd years. Most Special District board positions are for four years.

People who want to file for candidacy for one of the many positions open on fire, school, road and other local districts, must submit their forms and $10 fee to the Douglas County Clerks Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 18th.
