The passenger was jailed following an alleged reckless driving incident on Tuesday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 3:00 p.m. a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 700 block of Salmon Harbor Drive in Winchester Bay. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUII. The report said while the vehicle was being searched, the passenger wanted to tell the deputy that her rights were being violated and shut the car door and would not listen to or obey the deputy.
The driver was taken to the Reedsport Jail where she provided a blood alcohol level of .23, which is nearly three times over the legal limit. She was cited for DUII, reckless driving and recklessly endangering and was released to a sober adult.
The passenger, continued to be disorderly so was charged with interfering with police, resisting arrest and for second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was initially set at $15,000. She was released from custody on Wednesday.
