Roseburg Police cited two people following an alleged reckless driving incident on Tuesday.

Information from RPD said at about 1:45 p.m. an officer saw a man drive past him heading south on Northwest Highland. When he started to turn around for a traffic stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, passing vehicles and going into the oncoming lanes. The 37-year old was eventually tracked down and initially denied being the driver, but ultimately admitted that he was driving.

A second man, age 43, allegedly lied to the officer and said the suspect had been working at his house all day. That second man also had a warrant for his arrest.

The report said the suspect was cited for reckless driving, driving while suspended, and driving uninsured. The second man was cited for obstructing governmental administration and for the warrant.

Both were released after the citations were issued.
