TWO PEOPLE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING SERIOUS INJURY CRASH

Two people were taken to the hospital following a serious injury crash on Thursday.

A report from the Oregon State Police said at 6:35 a.m. a pickup left Interstate Five northbound at the Winston exit 119. The report said the vehicle was allegedly swerving all over the roadway. The pickup left its lane and went into the path of a truck that was headed from the on-ramp towards the freeway northbound. The vehicles struck head on and came to rest in the eastbound lane.

Both drivers, a 24-year old Myrtle Creek man and a 60-year old Roseburg man, were taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center before being transferred to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. The 60-year old man is listed in critical condition, while the 24-year old man is listed in fair condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.
