YMCA MAKING CHANGES DURING EXTREME RISK PERIOD

February 26, 2021 3:50 a.m.

The YMCA of Douglas County is making operational changes while the county is under the Extreme Risk Category.

CEO Matt Lund said he is very proud of how hard their members and employees have worked to respect the State of Oregon mandated guidelines and keep the community safe and the YMCA open for the past eight weeks. Lund said, “It has been noted by our Douglas County Commissioners and the Douglas Public Health Network that fitness facilities have not been the source of any outbreaks that have placed our county back into the Extreme Risk category”.

For now, the YMCA will be open Mondays through Fridays from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

These services will continue:

*Youth Sports cohorts, emergency child care, outdoor fitness classes, swim team cohorts, ADA/reservation studio, lap lane reservation, pickleball, reservation courts for the same party or same family

These services are modified:

*Weight room/cardio room by reservation only, north pool by reservation only, member drop in for above modified reservation areas subject to availability

These services are paused:

*Hot tub/sauna/steam room, water exercise classes, family swim, basketball, see land fitness classes

The YMCA will close on Saturdays for this week and next.
