WINTER STORM WARNING/WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON

February 13, 2021 7:00 a.m.  

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for mountain areas of the region above 5,500 feet with a Winter Weather Advisory in place above 4,500 feet through 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected. 12 to 18 inches is forecast above 5,500 feet with 5 to 12 inches above 4,500 feet. Winds will gust as high as 40 miles per hour.

The Warning and Advisory area is for the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and the Siskiyou Mountains, including Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and portions of highways 62, 138, 140 and 66.

Forecasters said travel in these areas is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.
