A 22-year old man was jailed following an alleged burglary incident.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday night at about 6:45 p.m. a caller said his residence in the 7,000 block of Goodrich Highway in the Oakland area had been entered, and someone had taken a shower and washed their clothes. The caller said some items were missing from the home. The report said it was determined that the suspect had been at the residence very recently and the person living there may have interrupted the burglary when they got home.

K9 Grim responded and located a pile of items near the edge of the property. A witness walking in the area at the same time said they saw a suspect walking from near that property.

Another deputy contacted Lloyd Salchenberg at the Flying J and noted that the man was wet and dirty, and acting suspicious. The man was detained as a suspect and evidence was located linking Salchenberg to the burglary.

He was charged with first degree burglary, and second degree counts of theft and criminal trespass. Bail was set at $257,500.
