The Roseburg Public Schools Board of Directors is seeking community input about the possibility of retiring the current Roseburg High School mascot, the Indians.

Superintendent Jared Cordon said a feedback form will be posted from February 15th through the 22nd, at www.roseburg.k12.or.us. Cordon said respondents will be asked to provide their name, email address and affiliation with the district. Written feedback may also be submitted to the district office at 1419 Northwest Valley View Drive in Roseburg.

Cordon said the School Board has developed a subcommittee to guide the initial steps into a potential transition. The committee is expected to evaluate the survey results and then present them to the board at its February 24th meeting.

Superintendent Jared Cordon will talk more about the mascot issue on the Morning Conversation Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
