PEDESTRIAN HURT WHEN STRUCK BY VEHICLE

A pedestrian was hurt after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 10:30 a.m. a 22-year old man was traveling west on Imbler and stopped at the intersection with Southeast Stephens. A 73-year old woman was walking south on the east side of Stephens as she approached the same intersection.

The report said the driver was preparing to turn north onto Stephens but never checked for southbound pedestrian traffic. The woman was in front of the vehicle as she crossed Imbler. The driver rolled forward, striking the woman and knocking her to the ground.

The report said the woman struck the back of her head and right elbow on the roadway. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries. She was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson.
