Roseburg Public Library will have a Facebook Live streaming event on “Racism in Oregon History: A Brief Overview”, presented by Eliza E. Canty-Jones and Kerry Tymchuk Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.

Library Director Kris Wiley said in December of 2019, the Oregon Historical Society published a special issue of Oregon Historical Quarterly, offering an in-depth view of the ways Oregon history has been shaped by white supremacist ideology and policies – and resistance to these frameworks – for almost two centuries. Canty-Jones and Tymchuk will talk about the importance of those subjects and invite attendees to access OHS resources for more learning.
