COVID-19 CLAIMS 13 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,044 AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 13 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,044, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 555 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 148,475. The new cases include:

*116 in Multnomah County

*53 each in Douglas and Washington counties

*44 in Marion County

*41 in Clackamas County

*40 in Lane County

*39 in Deschutes County

*25 in Jackson County

*18 in Josephine County

*16 in Polk County

*15 each in Benton and Coos counties

*13 in Jefferson County

*10 in Yamhill County

*9 each in Linn and Umatilla counties

*6 each in Klamath and Lake counties

*5 each in Columbia and Union counties

*3 each in Crook, Hood River and Wasco counties

*2 each in Baker, Clatsop, and Tillamook counties

*1 each in Grant and Morrow counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 49 to 101. 4 lived in Washington County. 3 lived in Multnomah County. 2 each lived in Douglas and Lane counties. 1 lived each in Clatsop, and Klamath counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 211, which is 15 fewer than on Tuesday. There are 53 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is unchanged from Tuesday.

OHA reported 16,427 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 9,686 doses were administered on Tuesday. 6,741 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 604, 215 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 821,150 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
