UACT TO STREAM 2017 PRODUCTION OF SHREK

In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Actors Community Theatre plans to stream the video of its 2017 production of “Shrek the Musical” for three nights, as a fundraising event.

Executive Director Melody Schwegel said due to COVID-19, the non-profit lost the last three productions of its last season and the entire 2020-2021 season, creating a huge financial hit for UACT.

Schwegel said while their online productions, along with donations and grants, have brought them some relief, they will be walking on a tightrope until they are able to fully reopen again.

Schwegel said “Shrek the Musical” was one of the most popular shows UACT has ever produced, so she is thrilled to be able to share it with people again. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 for a family of three or more. All three performances will be streamed at 7:00 p.m. on www.Showtix4u.com, February 19th-21st.

As a bonus, following the Friday night stream, viewers are invited to a live talk back with some of the cast, crew and orchestra. Viewers will be able to ask questions and learn about some of the behind the scenes magic that made “Shrek”, UACT’s best selling musical.

Tickets go on sale Monday February 8th. Check: https://www.uact-theatre.com/ or the group’s Facebook page for more information on getting tickets for “Shrek”.

Melody Schwegel talked about the special fundraiser on the Morning Conversation Friday on News Radio 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN podcast at www.541radio.com.
