COVID-19 CLAIMS 10 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL TO 1,991, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 10 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,991, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 649 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 144,605. The new cases include:

*91 in Lane County

*66 in Marion County

*62 in Washington County

*57 in Multnomah County

*41 in Jackson County

*40 each in Clackamas and Yamhill counties

*32 in Benton County

*31 in Umatilla County

*26 in Polk County

*22 in Josephine County

*21 in Linn County

*20 in Deschutes County

*19 in Douglas County

*16 in Coos County

*8 in Lincoln County

*7 each in Crook, Jefferson and Union counties

*5 each in Baker and Clatsop counties

*4 each in Harney, Klamath and Wasco counties

*3 in Wallowa County

*2 in Lake County

*1 each in Columbia, Curry and Hood River counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 59 to 99.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 266, which is 4 more than on Tuesday. There are 63 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 more than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 17,720 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 12,173 doses were administered on Tuesday. 5,547 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 471,966 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 706,575 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
