COVID-19 CLAIMS 8 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,938, AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 8 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,938, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 976 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 141,729. The new cases include:

*143 in Multnomah County

*135 in Washington County

*125 in Jackson County

*97 in Clackamas County

*82 in Marion County

*61 in Lane County

*43 in Deschutes County

*33 in Umatilla County

*27 each in Benton and Polk counties

*26 in Linn County

*22 in Yamhill County

*20 in Josephine County

*16 each in Coos and Jefferson counties

*14 in Klamath County

*11 in Lincoln County

*10 each in Douglas, Columbia, Malheur and Wasco counties

*5 in in Clatsop, Crook, Hood River, Morrow and Union counties

*3 in Tillamook County

*2 each in Baker, Curry, Harney and Wheeler counties

*1 each in Lake and Sherman counties

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 288, which is 3 fewer than on Thursday. There are 68 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 4 fewer than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 23,004 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 15,813 doses were administered on Thursday. 7,191 were administered on previous days, but were entered into the vaccine registry on Thursday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 382,374 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 614,525 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
