Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Riddle man on assault charges Thursday afternoon.

A DCSO report said at about 3:50 p.m. 44-year old Tony Ramirez was reported to be intoxicated when he allegedly assaulted and choked an individual in the 200 block of Pruner Road. The report said the suspect also physically harassed the victim and interfered with them as they reported the incident to law enforcement.

Ramirez was held on charges of fourth degree assault, harassment, strangulation and for interfering with making a report. Bail was set at $21,250.
