An Oakland man was jailed on burglary and other charges by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

On Monday a deputy took a report of a past burglary in the 1,000 block of Elkhead Road. The victim said there are cattle workers at the property every few days and his renters just moved out. The report said the previous Friday the cattle workers secured the gate and no one returned to the property until Monday. The victim found that a lock was cut off at the gate and the shop door was forced open.

Tools including a weedwacker, wire welder, ATV, gas cans, air compressor and more, had gone missing.

Wednesday a deputy contacted 36-year old Michael Corroo at his residence. As a result of the investigation, a probable cause was developed for the man’s arrest. Numerous stolen items were recovered.

Charges included first and second degree counts of burglary, four counts of first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree criminal trespass, and multiple counts of theft.

After arraignment, bail was set at $20,000.
