COVID-19 CLAIMS 20 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,924, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 20 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,924, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 731 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 140,063. The new cases include:

*115 in Marion County

*106 in Washington County

*67 in Clackamas County

*52 in Lane County

*35 in Jackson County

*30 in Umatilla County

*24 in Deschutes County

*21 each in Linn and Polk counties

*18 in Yamhill County

*17 in Malheur County

*16 in Josephine County

*13 in Klamath County

*9 each in Douglas and Coos counties

*8 each in Benton and Columbia counties

*7 each in Crook and Jefferson counties

*5 each in Hood River and Morrow counties

*4 each in Baker and Clatsop counties

*3 in Union County

*2 in Lake and Wasco counties

*1 in Harney and Tillamook counties

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 302, which is 6 fewer than on Sunday. There are 74 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 4 more than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 14,896 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 10,943 doses were administered on Tuesday. 3,953 doses were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 340,369 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 600,875 doses of vaccine has been delivered to sites across Oregon.
