COVID-19 HAS CLAIMED 22 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,865, AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 22 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,865, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 877 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 136,839. The new cases include:

*138 in Washington County

*136 in Multnomah County

*101 in Marion County

*90 in Lane County

*71 in Clackamas County

*52 in Umatilla County

*33 in Jackson County

*28 in Deschutes County

*24 each in Benton and Polk counties

*18 in Douglas County

*17 in Klamath County

*15 each in Columbia and Yamhill counties

*14 in Crook County

*10 in Coos County

*9 each in Jefferson, Linn and Union counties

*8 in Clatsop County

*7 in Morrow County

*5 each in Hood River, and Lincoln counties

*4 in Grant County

*3 each in Lake and Wasco counties

*1 each in Baker, Curry and Wallowa counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 46 to 90. 4 each lived in Jackson and Marion counties. 2 each lived in Clackamas, Harney, Klamath and Washington counties. 1 each lived in Deschutes, Multnomah, Josephine, Union and Umatilla counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 317, which is 12 fewer than on Thursday. There are 79 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 8 fewer than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 16,763 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 12,341 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday. 4,422 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Thursday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 270,453 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 487,700 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
