Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Roseburg is now open.

Owner James Smith from Rogue Fare, told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the store opened for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. Smith described their product as “traditional family style pizza”, but said due to COVID-19 guidelines no salad bar or lunch buffet is open yet. Smith said the dining room is operating in a limited capacity. He said staff are following strict guidelines with employees wearing face coverings and gloves.

The 8,000 square foot building that Mountain Mike’s is in is at the corner of West Harvard and Bellows, just west of Roseburg High School. A second business to be operated by Smith will be Cascade Coffee House which is under construction and located next door. It will be open around mid-February with the hiring process for staff already underway. Ten to fifteen people are needed. The new building has room for one more business or could be office space as well. Construction began around the start of August last year.

Smith told KQEN their opening “…was met with enthusiasm from our new neighbors and I was extremely happy to finally welcome new friends into the restaurant”. 25 people are already employed by Mountain Mikes and Smith said he is looking for a few more.

Rogue Fare has operated a Mountain Mike’s franchise in Medford since 2017. In 2018, Smith took on the role of developing more Mountain Mike’s locations around the state.

A grand opening will take place in a couple of weeks.
