COVID-19 CLAIMS 21 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,758, AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 21 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,758, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,037 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 131,258. The new cases include:

*155 in Multnomah County

*141 in Washington County

*111 in Umatilla County

*95 in Marion County

*86 in Lane County

*54 in Clackamas County

*52 in Jackson County

*48 in Josephine County

*43 each in Deschutes and Yamhill counties

*31 in Grant County

*23 in Polk County

*21 each in Douglas and Benton counties

*16 in Linn County

*14 each in Jefferson, Klamath and Wasco counties

*11 in Columbia County

*7 in Union County

*5 each in Lincoln, Malheur and Morrow counties

*4 each in Clatsop, Crook and Hood River counties

*3 in Coos County

*2 each in Baker and Wallowa counties

*1 each in Curry, Harney and Lake counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 52 to 96.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients across Oregon is 387, which is 28 fewer than on Thursday. There are 97 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 4 fewer than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 26,936 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry on Friday. Of this total, 10,618 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday. 16,318 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Thursday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 173,073 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
