The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has jailed a Crooked River Ranch man on sexual abuse charges.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell said on December 28th, DCSO began an investigation related to a sexual abuse allegation. O’Dell said the report was that an adult male had committed sexual abuse against a minor child. An additional report said the same man had committed sexual abuse acts against another person approximately 16 years ago.

O’Dell said detectives contacted the suspect, 70-year old Delbert Wayne Hooper, and conducted an interview with him last Friday. During the course of the interview, detectives developed probable cause for his arrest. O’Dell said Hooper was taken into custody on two separate charges of sexual abuse in the first degree.

Bail is listed at $500,000.
