Two people were jailed on stolen vehicle charges by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.

A DCSO report said at about 2:30 a.m. a deputy contacted the pair at the Winchester Fish Ladder. The report said both admitted to having the vehicle for several weeks after obtaining it under allegedly suspicious circumstances. The vehicle came back as being stolen.

35-year old Richard Atkins and 27-year Kennis Conner were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. Atkins was also charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine after a search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered both the drug and associated drug paraphernalia. Atkins was detained on $100,000 bail. Conner was held on $50,000 bail, but was release early Monday.
