ROSEBURG CITY COUNCIL HAS FIRST MEETING OF 2021 MONDAY NIGHT

The Roseburg City Council is holding its first meeting of the new year on Monday night.

Mayor Larry Rich will provide the State of the City Address, which is expected to last about 20 minutes. Commission chair appointments will be announced by Rich. Councilors will vote on appointments on open seats on city commissions. They will also confirm the members for the new Homeless Commission, as chosen by Rich. Those selected include Gregory Brigham of Adapt, Shaun Pritchard of the United Community Action Network, KC Bolton of Aviva Health, Brent Eichmann of Umpqua Health Alliance, and at-large members Shelley Briggs-Loosely and Mike Fieldman.

Councilors will vote on a new State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous State of Emergency expired at the end of last year.

Other items are on the agenda as well.

The meeting will be held via Zoom. Public comments on agenda items can be mailed to City Recorder Amy Sowa by 4:00 p.m. and will be read during the meeting. The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website: www.cityofroseburg.org, on Facebook Live and on Charter Cable channel 191.
