A Roseburg man was charged for an assault which allegedly took place on Wednesday.

A report from Roseburg Police that afternoon at about 4:50 p.m. 50-year old Walter Byers reportedly shot a male victim in the head with a pellet rifle, following an argument at the corner of Northeast Stephens and Diamond Lake Boulevard. The report said evidence discovered during the investigation collaborated the victim’s claims.

Charges included second degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and reckless endangering. Bail was set at $306,250. Byers was detained on Thursday.
