A Sutherlin man was jailed on child pornography charges by Sutherlin Police on Thursday.

Captain Kurt Sorensen said an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography began in December. It culminated when SPD and the Department of Homeland Security Southern Oregon High-Tech Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of 50-year old Daniel White in the 600 block of Sherwood at about 11:00 a.m.

Sorenson said evidence was seized and White was ultimately arrested on three counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree. Bail was set at $300,000.
