The Roseburg Police Department participated in a nationwide event to focus on apprehending impaired drivers between December 16th and January 2nd.

Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch said additional officers worked to focus specifically on that offense. Eichenbusch said during the two-week period, 3 people were arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired and 3 people were cited for driving while suspended.

The extra patrols were funded by grants from Oregon Impact and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
