The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport has announced the recent passing of Pinky, the harbor seal
A release said Pinky was found as a stranded pup in Cordova, Alaska in 1986. She was transferred to SeaWorld in San Diego to be rehabilitated, where federal authorities deemed her non-releasable.
The release said Pinky was one of the original seals to call the Oregon Coast Aquarium home, arriving in 1992.
In the wild, harbor seals can live into their twenties. Under human care, they can live into their thirties. Pinky was 34-years old.
