OAKLAND K-6 STUDENTS START IN-PERSON ON TUESDAY

Kindergarten through grade six students in the Oakland School District will return to in-person instruction beginning on Tuesday.

Information on the school district website said Monday will be used to reconnect virtually or by phone with students to check on their social emotional wellbeing and inform them of the new plan. Superintendent Patti Lovemark said this will allow all staff to review procedures for transportation, meal service, sanitizing protocols, classroom instruction and other social distancing and hygiene protocols for students on campus.

Grades 7-12 will go back to in-person instruction on Monday January 11th.

Lovemark said she is very glad that Governor Kate Brown announced that health metrics for allowing in person school for K-12 has been changed to advisory. Lovemark said she consulted with County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer as the plan for Oakland was developed.
