COVID-19 CLAIMS 8 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,500 AS OF SUNDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 8 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,500, as of Sunday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,421 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 117,745. The new cases include;

*221 in Marion County

*212 in Washington County

*202 in Clackamas County

*189 in Multnomah County

*115 in Jackson County

*91 in Umatilla County

*65 in Jefferson County

*59 in Yamhill County

*58 in Lane County

*37 in Deschutes County

*31 in Polk County

*30 in Josephine County

*20 in Coos County

*14 in Columbia County

*11 in Linn County

*9 each in Benton and Morrow counties

*7 in Tillamook County

*6 each in Clatsop, Curry and Linn counties

*5 in Hood River County

*4 in Crook County

*3 each in Douglas and Baker counties

*2 each in Harney, Malheur and Wallowa County

*1 each Lincoln and Wasco counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 76 to 88. 3 lived in Polk County. 2 lived in Marion County. 1 each lived in Coos, Union and Washington counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 483, which is 15 more than on Saturday. There are 109 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is unchanged from Saturday.

On Sunday, OHA recorded 3,430 doses of vaccine administered, raising the state’s total number of first vaccine doses administered to 48,725. That figure is based on preliminary reports of 1,717 doses administered on Saturday, as well as 1,713 administered on prior days that had not been recorded.
